Stained Glass Crafting using the Tiffany method

Group Description :
A group for those interested in learning & developing the techniques for the crafting of stained glass panels, Sun-catchers, tea light holders, trinket boxes, decorated mirrors, picture frames, lamp shades, Terrariums, garden glass art, wind catcher, etc. It is only limited by your imagination and willingness to practice and experiment. The group uses the Tiffany technique for stained glass. This method uses copper foil and lead/tin solder to join the glass parts together. The making of traditional leaded lights using lead came is possible for experienced crafters. For new starters to the craft, a simple sun-catcher is the first project. This small project introduces the methods of glass “cutting”, copper foiling and soldering. Basic consumables for the starter project (lead solder, copper foil, flux, glass,) can be purchased at cost at the group meeting. Or bring your own) Once the initial project is completed, the new starter can choose their own projects. New members provide their own tools after the initial project.
